| UPDATED ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello 8th Graders,
YOU are probably wondering about your speech
presentations. Unfortunately, you will not be able to present your
speech because cancellation of classes has made this impossible.
Therefore, in honor of your hard work, I will be grading these by
reading copies submitted to turnitin.com. If you have not done so already, make sure to submit your speech to turnitin.com. Be
sure to include the in-text citations and works cited page and make
sure that you have submitted it saved in WORD 2003 before you send it
so I can open it.
This assignment is the most
impt. one of the year, and your speech and score will be
placed in your portfolio that will be sent to the high school. If you have not already given me a hard copy of your speech, make sure that I receive a copy of it (Instructions on when to do this will be forthcoming),
so I can place it in your writing portfolio. I'd also like for you to
attach a copy of your visual aid to the hard copy. You can pin it to
the 1st page of your speech. You will receive an additional grade for
academic skills for your visual aid.
I am very
proud of the progress you have made, and I look foward to reading your
speeches.
I am very sorry that you will not be able to present your
speeches, for this is traditionally a highlight experience for 8th
graders.
